A Night at the Oscars: Celebrating Community and Youth Development in Holmes County
125 guests gathered in Holmes County for A Night at the Oscars, raising $5,000 for the Lexington Boys & Girls Club. With inspiring words from Dr. Jennifer Young Wallace, elegant silver and yellow decor, and a community united for youth, the event celebrated local heroes and funded AAU basketball, SMART Girls, and daily snacks. The Club looks ahead to its 10th Annual Fundraiser in May 2027.

Tutwiler Community Center Reopens with After‑School Basketball, Pop‑In Open House, and Summer Club
The Tutwiler Community Education Center is back with after‑school basketball (ages 6–12, starts April 27), a Pop‑In open house (April 30, free food), and Summer Club (June 1). Led by Coach Bernard Berryhill, 2016 NFHS State Coach of the Year. No minimum activity fees. Call (662) 345-8393.
Belzoni Club Grand Opening: A New Chapter for Youth in Humphreys County
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta has opened its newest location in Belzoni at the White Star Baptist Church Complex (614 George Lee St). The Club features two rooms: a main programming area with tables and chairs, plus a computer lab with 10 computers, printers, and a reading corner. The Club is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
