Club Members from Across the Delta Gather for Field Day at SPROUT Park
Club members enjoy participating in a three-legged race at SPROUT Park in Cleveland, Mississippi
On July 21, Club members from all across the Mississippi Delta came together at SPROUT Park in Cleveland for an organization-wide Field Day sponsored by the TrueCare Delta Fresh Foods Initiative.
Kids from every Club rotated through a variety of activities designed to promote physical wellness, teamwork, and healthy habits. They tested their aim with ring toss, teamed up for three-legged races, refueled with hamburgers, and enjoyed fresh apples.
What is SPROUT Park?
SPROUT Park, Cleveland, Mississippi
SPROUT Park is an innovative outdoor health, wellness, and education space located at Delta Fresh Foods Farm in Cleveland. It stands for:
S – Sustainability
P – Physical Wellness
R – Resilience
O – Outdoor Learning
U – Unity
T – Teaching Healthy Habits
The park was made possible through funding from the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation and the vision of Delta Fresh Foods leadership. It was created to address health disparities, limited access to fresh food, and the lack of safe outdoor spaces in the Mississippi Delta.
Winners and Celebration
After a day of thrilling competition, the totals were calculated, and the results are in!
🏆 MVSU Club took home the trophy as the overall winner of the Field Day! Their members showed incredible teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout every event.
Laura Jane Glaccaglia with TrueCare presented medals to the first, second, and third place winners of each event, celebrating the achievements of our young athletes.
We are so proud of every Club member who participated and represented BGCMS Delta with such enthusiasm and joy. The true victory was the connections made, the healthy habits learned, and the memories created together!
