The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta announces the addition of three new board members for 2023-2024: Michie Cotton of Cleveland, William Edwards of Canton, and Dr. Lakeisha Richardson of Greenville.
Michie Cotton is the Director of Health Strategy at Elevance Health, with a focus on improving health through a partnership with community-based organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cleveland, where she serves on the Finance Committee. She serves as Fundraising Chair for the Junior Auxiliary in Cleveland and is Secretary of the Board at the Cleveland Country Club.
William Edwards is a native of Pickens, MS, and is currently, the CFO of G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center, Inc. He graduated from Mississippi Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In addition, William is a recent graduate of UCLA’s Anderson School of Management Healthcare Executive. He was awarded CHAMS 2021 CFO of the Year.
Hoping to help the organization with fundraising and finances, he is also intrigued by the growth prospects for the organization. Edwards already serves as a member of the Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Delta advisory board in Lexington. He is the President of the Pickens Mayoral Health Council and a former alderperson of the Town of Pickens, a volunteer youth football coach, volunteer soccer coach, volunteer basketball referee, youth leader, and community organizer.
Dr. Lakeisha White Richardson is a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist practicing in Greenville. She is a native of Indianola. She is married to W. Dewayne Richardson, Esq., and together they have three beautiful children, Damion D. Richardson, Alexis R. Richardson, and Kennedy A. Richardson.
“I know how much a benefit Clubs are to our communities,” Dr. Richardson said about joining the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta Board. “I want to be part of an organization that is dedicated to sustaining a safe place for our youth for years to come.”
Dr. Richardson will be taking part in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Conference in Orlando this May.
