Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta is proud to announce that the late Heather Ryan has been included in the virtual Hall of Fame for Boys & Girls Clubs of Mississippi. This Hall of Fame is a virtual museum celebrating the extraordinary youth, men, and women who have made significant contributions to the Boys & Girls Club Movement in Mississippi.
Heather Ryan served as the Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta beginning in 2006. Heather was born in Vicksburg, MS, and received a degree in Fine Arts from Delta State University and a Master's degree in International Business from Millsaps College. Heather began her career with the Boys & Girls Club movement at the Central Mississippi Boys & Girls Clubs as a grant writer. She was a prolific and successful grant writer, fundraiser, and program developer.
Heather grew the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta to as many as seventeen club sites. After stepping away from her position as Chief Professional Officer at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta, Heather continued to serve as a consultant and grant writer to the organization, as well as other Boys & Girls Clubs organizations throughout the Southeast.
Aside from her professional accomplishments, Heather was also an accomplished artist, graphic designer, and exceptional cook. She taught art programs at various Boys & Girls Clubs and with several other non-profit organizations. She loved music, travel, and even scuba diving with sharks.
Heather Ryan's inclusion in the virtual Hall of Fame for Boys & Girls Clubs of Mississippi is a testament to her remarkable achievements and contributions to the organization. Her work raised the standards and professionalism in the Boys & Girls Club Movement while inspiring and mentoring future generations. Her legacy will continue to inspire current and attract future volunteers, board leaders, professionals, and investors by providing the standards by which great leaders and accomplishments are measured.
