Learn how the Coahoma County Board of Supervisors is helping the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta provide nutritious meals to their members and families during the summer months.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta has been working tirelessly to provide support and guidance to the youth of Clarksdale and Jonestown. From after-school programs to summer camps, the Boys & Girls Clubs offer a safe and nurturing environment for children and teenagers to learn, grow, and thrive.
However, one of the most important aspects of the Boys & Girls Clubs' work is their food and nutrition program. With many children in the Delta area living in food-insecure households, the Boys & Girls Clubs ensure that all club members have access to healthy, nutritious meals every day.
Recently, the Coahoma County Board of Supervisors recognized the crucial importance of this program and stepped up to provide food and nutrition support for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta's Clarksdale and Jonestown units. Board members Roosevelt Lee, Darryl Washington, Johnny Nueman, Pat Davis, and Paul Pearson came together to provide much-needed funding to ensure that the Boys & Girls Clubs can continue to serve healthy meals to their members and their families throughout the summer months.
"We are very grateful to be receiving these funds at this time," said Dallas, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta. "This is a much-needed support to help us provide nutritious meals to our club members and even their families during the summer months."
This kind of support from local government is crucial to ensuring that organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta can continue to serve their communities effectively. It's heartening to see local leaders recognize the value of programs like the Boys & Girls Clubs' food and nutrition program and take action to support it.
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta, our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Thanks to the support of the Coahoma County Board of Supervisors, we can continue to fulfill that mission and make a real difference in the lives of the youth we serve.
