Club Members from Lexington to Participate in Special Olympics USA Games

We recognized our partners from Holmes County Consolidated School District. These young men will be participating in the Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Florida, from June 5 - June 11, 2022, as a unified basketball team., which means the team will consist of students with and without disabilities.
Photographed are (front row) Team Coach, Christopher Horton, Mayor Robin McCrory, Pennie Griffin, and Linda Payne; (second row) Dillon Jennings; (back row) Trayveon Horton, Lamarcus Crawford, Joel Pate, and Julius Mathis.

This team is unique because it formed a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of the Mississippi Delta. As a result, it will be the first team co-sponsored by Boys & Girls Club to compete in the USA Games within the United States of America. They will be making history this summer!

A special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Wilson, Superintendent of Holmes County Consolidated School District, for allowing us to honor these students during the board meeting, Mayor of Lexington Mrs. Robin McCrory, Mrs. Pennie Griffin, the Director of Operations for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta, parents, and faculty members.
